Among the Four Unknown Deities, none are as haunting as Doyutil, the Cursed Death Puppet.
Legends throughout Isteria tell of a time when Doyutil was not a puppet...
She was the most beautiful queen to have ever ruled the mortal world.
Her kingdom was known as the Kingdom of Elaris, a paradise where famine, disease, and war were unknown. People believed her beauty was a blessing from the heavens, and kings from every nation sought her hand in marriage. Yet despite her grace and kindness, the queen carried a single unbearable sorrow.
She feared death.
Not for herself...
But for those she loved.
When a mysterious child appeared at the palace carrying a lifeless wooden doll, the child offered the queen a forbidden bargain.
"Offer everything precious to you, and no one you love shall ever die."
Blinded by grief and hope, the queen accepted.
One by one, she sacrificed her crown, her kingdom, her people, and finally her own humanity. Each sacrifice was sewn into the wooden doll with threads woven from the souls of the dead. When the final stitch was completed, the heavens trembled.
The bargain had been fulfilled...
The kingdom of Elaris vanished from history in a single night. No ruins remain. No maps remember where it once stood. Only abandoned marionettes occasionally appear across Isteria, each wearing fragments of royal clothing from a kingdom that no longer exists.
It is said that every puppet is one of her lost subjects, forever bound to their queen.
Doyutil now wanders the world in silence, carrying an ancient marionette cross wrapped in countless black strings. Every string is connected to a living soul, though no mortal can see them.
When she awakens the Death Marionette Dominion, darkness spreads across the heavens as billions of black strings descend from the sky. Every living creature becomes suspended like a puppet upon an invisible stage. The dead rise once more, dancing beside the living in a silent performance that can never end.
Those who look into Doyutil's porcelain face do not see a monster.
They see the beautiful queen she once was.
For a single fleeting moment, she smiles with warmth, as though begging someone to free her from the curse.
Then the smile cracks.
The porcelain shatters.
And the Queen of Elaris is gone, leaving only Doyutil, the Cursed Death Puppet.
Some believe she still searches for someone worthy enough to cut the strings binding her soul.
Others believe she no longer remembers that she was ever human at all.
